⚖ Rules

Server rules and code of conduct.

By logging in you agree to follow these rules. Staff decisions are final. Ignorance of a rule does not excuse breaking it — read this page before you ask for an exception in chat.

Penalty scale (default): Warning → 10-minute jail → 24-hour ban → 7-day ban → permanent ban. Severe cases (RMT, dupe exploits, account theft) can skip straight to a permanent ban.

Accounts

# # Rule
1 1

One human, multiple characters — fine. Multiple accounts controlled by the same person at the same time (multi-boxing) — not allowed in PvP areas, faction towns, events, and dungeons. Mules and storage alts are OK as long as they stay parked.

2 2 Sharing an account with another person is at your own risk. UOWOS will never restore items, gold, or characters lost through account sharing. Lend nothing you would not give away.
3 3 Account theft (logging into someone else’s credentials, attempting to recover their email, social-engineering their password) is permanently bannable.
4 4

Selling, buying, or trading accounts for real-world money is prohibited. So is selling in-game currency, WGP, items, or services for money outside the official Donate page. See Rule 8.

Fair play

# # Rule
1 5 No third-party automation. Macros that move your character, attack, loot, cast spells, fish, or craft while you are away from the keyboard are not allowed. Razor and similar clients are permitted only as visual/UI helpers — auto-targeting and auto-attack loops are NOT.
2 6

Exploits and bugs: if you find one, report it via Bugtraq on the site. Using a bug to gain items, gold, XP, or duplicate anything is bannable and the gains are wiped. Confirmed reporters can be rewarded (see Bugtraq for reward tiers).

3 7 No dupe attempts, no client edits, no packet replay or injection, no map hacks, no speed hacks. The auto-walk detector logs offenders; first hit is a warning, repeat hits escalate quickly.
4 8 Real-money trade outside the Donate page is prohibited. This includes selling characters, gold, WGP, houses, set pieces, services, or accounts for cash, gift cards, crypto, or any other real-world value.

Communication

# # Rule
1 9 No racism, sexism, homophobia, slurs, hate speech, or doxxing. Heated arguments in PvP are part of the genre — targeted abuse is not. Repeated offenses escalate to a permanent mute / ban.
2 10 No spam in global chat (`.saymass`) — that command costs gold for a reason. No advertising other shards, Discords, or services. No begging GMs publicly; use a private message.
3 11 Do not impersonate staff. Naming your character variations of "GM", "Admin", "Owner", or copying a staff member’s name will get the character renamed and may result in a ban.
4 12 Respect the language settings. Global chat is open; if you want a long conversation in your native language, use guild chat (`.c`) or a chat channel.

Gameplay

# # Rule
1 13 Faction towns are guarded — entering an enemy faction town will get you punished by guards on sight. That is by design, not a bug.
2 14 PvP is allowed everywhere it is not explicitly forbidden (Street Market, Newbie Dungeon, Safe Dungeon, and the duel area are NoLoot / safe zones). Killing other players outside these zones is not griefing.
3 15

No corpse-camping beyond two consecutive kills on the same target. Stalking a single player across regions to deny them play is harassment and falls under Rule 9.

4 16 Events (Color Tournament, CTF, Zombie, etc.) have their own internal rules. Throwing matches on purpose, intentionally disconnecting to deny ELO to the opposing team, or boosting your alt across teams will get you removed from the event roster.
5 17 Houses, vendors, and storage placed in the world are subject to decay. If you are away for an extended period, log in or pay maintenance. Items lost to decay are not restored.

Reports and staff

# # Rule
1 18

To report a player or a bug, use Bugtraq on the site or .help in-game (mass-help to all GMs, costs gold to prevent spam). Provide nicknames, time, region, and screenshots if you have them.

2 19 GM decisions are final at the time. If you think a decision was unfair, write a thread in the forum or open a Bugtraq entry with the `not_a_bug` category — do not argue in global chat.
3 20 Staff will never ask for your password. If anyone (even claiming to be a GM) asks for your password, report it immediately on Discord and change your password from the Options page.
